Rural properties and septic
Most La Center work is on acreage with a well and a septic system. Locating the drainfield and its reserve area is the first thing we do on any design here, because you cannot build a patio, park equipment or plant deep-rooted trees over it. Getting that wrong is a five-figure mistake and it is entirely avoidable.
East Fork Lewis River and drainage
Ground near the East Fork Lewis River and the creeks feeding it can have a high winter water table and shoreline or floodplain regulation attached. Drainage design here is often about managing where water goes rather than trying to make it disappear, and swales frequently beat pipe on a large rural lot.
Long driveways
A lot of properties here have several hundred feet of gravel drive. Built as a single layer of rock, it turns to washboard and potholes by the second winter. Built like a road, with geotextile over the subgrade and a compacted structural course under the surface rock, it lasts for years.
